Today we are going to make Basketball in Photoshop. In this Photoshop tutorial we will learn some basic tools like use of Pen Tool, Gradient tool, some Layer Styles to learn in this tutorial. Quite easy tutorial for the beginners. It will definitely polish your Graphic Design skills.
Here is the Final result of Basketball in Photoshop Tutorial:
1. Lets start with a new file in Photoshop of size 560 x 560 px size, 72 pixels/inch resolution and RGB color mode:
2. Create new layer and pick Elliptical Marquee selection tool 
and draw the following circle:
3. Now Pick Gradient Tool 
and from top Property Panel, click on “Click to edit Gradient” box 
and make the following Gradient:
Hold mouse Left Click and drag it from left to right while holding down Shift key so you will have this:
4. Don’t remove the selection, keeping this selection, create new layer and pick Brush Tool 
, we are now going to add some dark areas, after picking the Brush tool , change the color to #844426 and make the following brush settings from top Property Panel:
Darken the bottom part of the ellipse as:
5. Again keeping the same selection on, create new layer and pick Brush Tool again, this time change the color to #e1ac93 and paint the bottom part as shown below:
6. Create another new layer and this time paint with Brush tool by using White color as shown below:
You will get this kind of circle:
7. Create a new layer and make selection with Pen tool 
but first turn on the Paths icon 
from Property Toolbar.
8. Fill the selection with Black color:
9. While keeping the selection highlight with Brush tool , use the White color as shown in the image:
10. Create new layer and pick Elliptical Marquee tool 
and make the following selection and fill it with Black color:
11. Press Ctrl+D to remove the selection and goto Filter >> Blur >> Gaussian Blur:
Give 20 in the Radius box, so you will get this after hitting OK:
12. Now its time to add some Dimple effect on the ball, selection Ball layer:
Right click on the layer and selection Blending Options:
and use the following settings:
