How to Generate Reports in Magento eCommerce Store

One of the coolest features in Magento is that it allows the website owners to generate custom reports. Sales report can indicate the progress of your eCommerce store. Most of us create sales reports using the default features in Magento. The website admin can go to Reports -> Sales -> Orders. Filling up the filter form on the same page allows you to create custom sales reports, which helps you get all the required information on the online store.

When you run an online Magento store, you would need to generate accurate sales revenue reports. Different types of custom reports can be generated with Magento.

How to Generate Reports in Magento eCommerce Store

Refreshing Report Statistics:

How to refresh sales report statistics:

  1. On the Admin menu, select Reports > Refresh Statistics.
  2. In the list, select the check box of each report that needs to be refreshed.
  3. Set the Actions control as one of the following:

Refresh Lifetime Statistics

Refresh the Statistics for the Last Day

  1. When complete, click the Submit button.

Product Sales Reports:

Navigate to: Reports > Products > Products Ordered

  • For generating a report for the products ordered for a specific period, you need to select the period from the fields, From and To, Select Show by as Day/Month/Year as per your report period.

For example, lets create a report for 1st June 2016 to 17th June 2016.

Select the dates, select Day as Show by and click on refresh.

Product Sales Reports

Day wise report will be generated for the products ordered for the specified period.

This report can also be exported from the system in excel sheet supported format called CSV. Also as an XML. Select the preferred option from the drop down: Export to, and Export the report.

Total Sales Reports:

Navigate to: Reports > Sales > Orders

  • For generating a report for the sales for a specific period, you need to select the period from the fields, From and To, Select Show by as Day/Month/Year as per your report period.
  • Report can be filtered by Order Status by specific Status as well.
  • Also, you can get the report by Order Created/ Order Updated date.

For example, letโ€™s create a report for 1st June 2016 to 17th June 2016.

Select the dates, select Day as Show by and click on refresh.

Total Sales Reports

Day wise report will be generated for the orders placed per day for the specified period.

This report can also be exported from the system in excel sheet supported format called CSV. Also as an XML. Select the preferred option from the drop down: Export to, and Export the report.
